Branches & locations

Setting up multi-branch operations, assigning users, and configuring per-branch defaults.

4 min read

A branch represents a physical or logical location within your company. Every transaction is stamped with a branch so you can produce branch-level P&L reports, restrict users to their location, and manage inter-branch stock transfers.

  1. 1Go to Settings → Branches and click Add Branch.
  2. 2Give the branch a short code (used in document numbers) and a full name.
  3. 3Assign the branch manager. They receive approval notifications for transactions raised at this branch.
  4. 4Assign staff members to the branch so they only see transactions for their location.
  5. 5Optionally configure per-branch document number series if invoice numbers must be distinct per branch.

Inter-branch control accounts

When stock or funds move between branches, MSME Link posts to inter-branch control accounts to keep each branch's books balanced. Configure these accounts in Settings → GL Settings under the Inter-Branch section.

All users assigned to a branch can only see transactions from that branch. Owners and admins can always see all branches.
