Inventory

Internal consumption

Record goods used internally by the business rather than sold to customers.

Internal consumption records goods that are used by the business itself — supplies consumed in production, items used for marketing samples, or materials for repairs. This reduces stock and posts to an expense account instead of cost of sales.

  1. 1Go to Inventory → Internal Consumption and click New.
  2. 2Select the branch, items, and quantities consumed.
  3. 3Select the expense account to charge (e.g. Office Supplies, Production Overhead).
  4. 4Post the consumption. Stock decreases and the expense account is debited.
