Adding inventory items and services, and configuring their GL posting accounts.

Every item you buy or sell in MSME Link starts as a product or service record. Products carry stock; services do not.
Item types
- Stocked item — physical goods tracked by quantity in the inventory module.
- Service — non-physical items (labour, consulting) that are invoiced but not stocked.
- Non-stocked item — goods you buy and sell but don't track in inventory.
Creating a product
- 1Go to Inventory → Products and click New Product.
- 2Enter the product name, SKU, and unit of measure.
- 3Set the default sale price and purchase cost.
- 4Assign a product category for grouping and reporting.
- 5Set the reorder level — MSME Link will alert you when stock falls below this.
GL account mapping
Each product can have up to eight GL account overrides — sales income, sales returns, purchase cost, purchase returns, inventory asset, COGS, and more. If left blank, MSME Link uses the system-level defaults from Settings → GL Settings.
