Define what a product consumes and create a production order for the correct branch.

Step by step

  1. 1Prepare the raw materials, subassemblies and finished product in Inventory → Products. Check stock tracking and the relevant product accounts.
  2. 2Open Inventory → Production. Create a Bill of Materials (BOM), selecting the finished product, output quantity and required components with their quantities and units.
  3. 3For example, a BOM for one table could require five timber units, twenty screws and half a litre of varnish. The BOM describes materials, not the work sequence.
  4. 4Create a production order and select Load from BOM. Choose the branch, planned output quantity and scheduled date.
  5. 5Review the scaled component quantities before saving. A BOM that produces one table scales its component requirements when you order ten tables.
  6. 6Open the saved order. Ordinary orders use their existing completion process; advanced orders use approval, release, shop-floor execution and output receipt.

Do not use ordinary order completion as a shortcut for an advanced order. Enable advanced production before creating the orders that need its controls.
