Review manufacturing costs and complete an order using its applicable costing policy.

Step by step

  1. 1Open Production Costing and review Settings, Employee rates and Overhead rules with your accountant before new releases.
  2. 2In Costing policy, configure the supported cost controls. If multiple outputs are enabled, define them in BOM outputs before release.
  3. 3Prepare Standard periods when using standard-cost controls. Newly released orders capture the applicable frozen standards; older orders retain their existing behaviour.
  4. 4Review WIP and Variances for the relevant period and branch. Compare actual materials, labour and overhead with the order's applicable standards.
  5. 5Use the Overhead report to review absorption against the configured overhead rules.
  6. 6After finished output has been received and the order is completed, return to the order, enter its closure date and use Close order.

Closure is final. Standard costing posts applicable frozen-cost variances and clears residual WIP; actual costing records variances without those closure GL postings. Production costing does not duplicate payroll payment.
